Packages 1 DAY/1 NIGHT - FULL BOARD
DAY ONE: Pick up from Sandakan airport or Sepilok Nature Resort and travel by 4-wheel drive (2 hrs) to the Kinabatangan River. Travel 10 mins by small boat through the Mangrove Forest and check-in to the lodge. After lunch relax in the idyllic surroundings at the lodge by the river, before a late afternoon river cruise with an excellent opportunity to see Proboscis Monkey, Orang Utan,Macaques, birds, reptiles and other wildlife and vegetation. A spectacular opportunity for photographers and the chance to see these creatures in their natural habitat. Return to the lodge for dinner after which enjoy a slideshow and optional evening river cruise.

DAY TWO: After breakfast proceed back towards Sandakan stopping off at the Gomantong Caves for an internal view of the incredible cave system home to bats and birds nests (famed for birds nest soup) Return to Sandakan. Tour ends.

2 DAY/1 NIGHT - FULL BOARD Sukau Rainforest Lodge has 20 rooms, multi international award winners, is owned and managed by Borneo Eco Tours. It was built in 1995 in traditional Malaysian architecture using several Borneo hardwood species. It is built on stilts with a separate lounge, restaurant, open sun-deck, river jetty, an enclosed garden and two tree platforms. Electricity is supplied by solar panels/generator, and hot water by solar heaters. All rooms are twin bedded, with ceiling fan, mosquito netting, attached bathroom, hot shower and toilets. River tours are conducted by boats powered by electric motors.

Birdlife is especially rich here including eight species of hornbills, kingfishers, egrets, darters, owls, kites, eagles, broadbills, doves, storm storks, herons, hawks, ospreys, falcon, pheasants, parakeets, bee eaters, woodpeckers, pittas, bulbuls, forktails, babblers, warblers, flycatchers, orioles, flowerpeckers, spiderhunters among others.

EXAMPLE ITINERARY Day 1: On arrival at Sandakan airport by MH2042 eta 0740hrs, proceed to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. Trek ten minutes through the rainforest on wooden plank walks to witness the feeding of the orang utans at 10am and video show. Continue to Sandakan jetty for an estimated 2 hours boat journey to Sukau Rainforest Lodge along Sabah's longest river, Kinabatangan with opportunity to view birds and wildlifes in virgin mangrove, wetland and rainforest habitats. Late afternoon take a two hours river cruise using electric motor in search of some of the 10 primate species including Proboscis monkeys as they settle down on treetops along the Kinabatangan River. Return for solar heated hot shower, candle light dinner and slide show conducted by naturalist guide. Overnight at Sukau Rainforest Lodge. Please bring along sun block lotion, personal toiletries, torch light, insect repellent, walking shoes, binoculars, hat & raincoat.

2 DAYS/1 NIGHT - FULL BOARD
Situated next to the world renowned Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre and hidden amongst a treasure trove of tropical plants, huge trees and spectacular orchids in bloom, the delightful bungalows of the Sepilok Nature Resort are within walking distance of the forest reserve. Precious home to the last wild Orang Utans of North Borneo, the centre allows you to witness the feeding of the orphaned Orang Utans in their natural environment. All chalets are comfortable with air-conditioning, ceiling fan and en-suite facilities. The most delightful and peaceful location both by day and night to experience the reserve.

The English Tea House and Restaurant is a colonial house, located by the famed Agnes Keith House and Museum, atop a hill, affording spectacular views over the town and Sandakan Bay. With manicured lawns, gazebo's and terrace, enjoy fine tea and English scones with clotted cream. Lunch and dinner is also served at the Tea House, and together with a spot of croquet, this is surely the most refined and desirable spot in Sandakan.

EXAMPLE ITINERARY On arrival at Sandakan Airport you will be transferred to the Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation centre to witness the Orang Utan feeding followed by a tour of Sepilok (Entrance Fee included). After a leisurely lunch at the delightful English Tea House and guided tour of Sandakan and the Chinese Temple you will check- in to the Nature Resort for time to relax before dinner. A guided night walk to experience the "jungle orchestra", is also included. FULL BOARD INCLUDES LUNCH & DINNER ON DAY 1 AND BREAKFAST ON DAY 2.
